Kym Grosser, Jaumell Campbell, and I went to Toronto this past summer with some of the Kink guys; Jay Roe, Tom Dillon, James Steele, and Tony Hamlin, as well as Colony’s Mic Bayzand, to hit up a few of the Ten Pack Am contests and ride some street. Chris Silva was our tour guide and he took us to some great spots! We were out there for a little over a week and got some rad clips… It took forever for me to put it together, but none the less, the guys killed it and the video turned out great. P.S. I’m sick of the term “web video” so from now on, I’m calling them “webits” haha… so bad!
Kym Grosser just hit me up to let me know Sam Lowe put together a cool edit from a night in the Igloo. There’s some clips Andy Roode, Sam, and Kym Grosser. Check it out!
Ali just sent over an update with pics from his trip to Florida. Check out what he had to say:
What up people! I’ve been in Orlando Florida for 2 weeks, first week was Dew Tour and it didn’t go very well. The course was from 1980 and I wasn’t feeling it at all. We hit up all the tourist stuff like crazy golf and feeding the gators. The second week was spent with the Dardens at Lindzs condo in West Palm Beach, where we just had long walks on the beach, kayaked down rivers, played some tennis, and just recharged the batteries. I’m now back in Greenville and ready for BMX, motocross and kickboxing today… I’m off to Cuba for a Vans demo on Wednesday. Check the wall tap out of the 8ft at the Boneyard. I’ve wanted to do that for so long, check back soon will ya!
So Travis has spent the last few months working at a design firm in Vancouver called St.Bernadine Mission Communications. (www.stbernadine.com) They were working on an advertisement for the Great Western Beer Company called “Impressions”. He got talked into posing for this Gold Extra beer ad and its so funny! Check out what Travis had to say about it.
“Here is that Great Western Beer ad I modeled for back in the summer. Thought it might be a funny post for the site. They gave me a full sized print for my house and it’s so funny. They just asked me to be in it. The concept is when people aren’t careful with their strong beer, they end up sleeping on or against all sorts of weird things – electric outlet, toothbrush, side of a tire, garden hose and get the resulting impression on their face. In this case, a garden hose. We’ve all passed out in someone’s yard once in our lives.”
Here’s a few clips of Gary from this past summer. He spent some time in Vancouver between the Give D trip and Metro. The clips are from the Hastings and Po-Co park, and a random wedge spot in Coquitlam. Check for an Osato cameo!
The nub is for anyone who wants/needs their seat to be slammed as far as possible.
The seat mast (the area that your seat clamp goes around) must be removed to the bottom of the slot to run this mod on your bike. The bolt in your Pivotal seat will pull the wedge up and tighten everything up eliminating the a seat clamp, seat mast and any shred of dignity you once had. The weight of this seat “post” is next to nothing (50 grams) and once you factor in the weight of steel mast and seat post clamp you have just removed….it actually does weigh….nothing.

Chris Martindale and our friend Casey Zautke where in town from Seattle over the weekend. We rode a bit on Saturday, but the weather was HORRIBLE and we didn’t get to ride much, so when it was dry on Sunday, we were psyched. We headed out to the Po-Co park and met up with Travis Sexsmith for a fun session.
My friend, Harookz from Vancouver, is an extremely accomplished photographer who’s been shooting MTB stuff for years and has recently been getting into studio/portrait stuff and he just got back from New York, where he was shooting Missy Elliott for Adidals Originals! Harookz has been wanting to shoot some BMX for fun, so he met up with us at the park and got some rad shots.
