George Bolter – Red Bull Backyard Digger Part One

George Bolter hit us up with some news about the Red Bull Backyard Digger event that he was a part of recently in New Zealand. This is what he had to say:

About a month ago me and my brother Louis got together with Red Bull and a few mates for the Red Bull Backyard Digger. Basically to do up a backyard spot, build a heap of jumps and make it a whole lot better! We camped out on a farm down south in the Waikato and dug all weekend and got a nice six pack going with a few hips and rollers. Red Bull supplied a digger and a Bobcat to help get the job done faster.

Check out George digging and speaking in part one of the video, and check back soon for part two.

Dillon Lloyd Update

Dillon has had a pretty busy year so far. Between contests, traveling, and moving, we caught up with him to get a quick update.

You’ve been pretty busy. In the middle on filming for The Hunt you moved from the Montreal area to Vancouver. How has the change been?

Ya, filming for The Hunt was fun just finding and riding new spots is the best so it made filming and riding alot more fun, and the change has been amazing. Just riding in the city or anywhere and being able to see the moutains all the time makes everything you do and think so much sicker, and also all the amazing street spots and skateparks.

What’s become of your cars in Quebec, how many do you have now and what are/were you driving before you left?

Right now I’m driving my 1989 BMX 325i stripped cagged and race ready everyday now. Since I have been down in Montreal it’s hard to drive normal when all you want to do is drift and speed everywhere. Just got myself out of a $1000 ticket and losing my lisence with my charm for doing donuts. Thank god for female cops. Before I left I also had anther BMW. A 1991 325i and a beater Civic that I sold to travel and bike.

You obviously put a ton of work in filming for your part in The Hunt with Jeremy Deme. What was the experience like?

Ya I just had lots of fun riding and on the sidelines watching Jeremy do all his magic on the camera and editing and also joking around and just having the funnest time.

How psyched were you when you heard you got second place amongst some pretty heavy hitters?

Ya for sure. I would have been super stoked just making it in the top ten and was just a hundred times more stoked finding out I got second.

How was the Taz contest? Second place two years in a row is definitely not something to complain about. How hard did that truck to flat over the quarter pipe hurt?

Can’t complain. The truck hurt my back a bit only because it was fucked from landing on it earlier from a pegs to hard 180, but besides that I was fine.

You’ve got a big European trip coming up soon. What are your plans there?

Just to have fun, party, meet Euro chicks and bang shit out on the bike.

Any other plans for the rest of the winter?

Just ride as much as possible besides that not really.

Macneil UK Team in Madrid Trailer

This is the trailer for the Macneil UK team in Madrid. We are excited for this and to debut our new UK team. This is what Mike King had to say.

In early November the new team consisting of Vinny Mayne, Billy Cooper, Ben Green (TM) and myself set off for a week in Madrid, Spain’s capital, in search of some good weather, good spots, good content and ultimately good times.

The full video alongside an article, with photos by Sam King will be dropping December 16th.

Be sure to pick up a copy of Ride UK, issue 159 and check out the full edit, but for now enjoy the trailer.

Embassy X Macneil

Jeremy from Northern Embassy has been riding and filming with a few of our team guys all season and put together this great edit. Features Dillon LLoyd, Greg Flag, George Bolter and Andrew Lazaruk riding parks around Vancouver and a couple clips in Montreal.

Lazer 3rd at King of Skatepark

Lazer was at the King of Skatepark contest hosted by Etnies in Southern California this past weekend at took 3rd place in the open bowl category. Congrats on the placing! Lots of heavy hitters, young guns, and legends all in the mix at the event. Check out a video from the event at Ride BMX and try and spot Lazer.

David Seetoh Lang Portfolio Update

Macneil friend and talented photographer David Seetoh Lang just updated the BMX portfolio of his site with a number of amazing shots. Whether it’s shooting BMX photos in his home of Vancouver, traveling to Austria to work with Red Bull, hanging out of a helicopter while shooting stunt pilots, or documenting the chaos of the Vancouver hockey riots, he always has a new project in the works. David’s been on plenty of trips with us over the years, and shot with loads of our team riders, so you’ll see a lot of familiar Macneil faces (and photos) on his site. Below are just a few of great photos on his site. Check out his full site for plenty more photos.

Lazer in Seattle

Spotted this quick video on Northern Embassy this morning, put together by Aaron Gates from No Bikes. Lazer has made his way down to California for the majority of his winter again and stopped to ride in Seattle, where he laid down a couple quick moves at a concrete park.

Lazer and Taylor in the new Ride

Lots of magazine coverage lately. Here’s a two page photo spread from the recent issue of Ride of Andrew Lazaruk taken on our Vegas trip earlier in the year.

The same issue also features our ad with Taylor Elvy for our Fashionably Light pegs.
