Ryan Fudger hooked up with Kevin and shot a great bike check and did a little interview for Ride BMX with him about how he ended up hooking up with us. Kevin’s currently running a new sample Borato frame in bright orange, this bike check was done a bit before he got his hands on that. Check it all out here and expect to see some news from Kevin while he’s in Australia real soon!

We are down to our last days here in Barcelona, and Taylor’s been on the road for a while now. While we were out today we grabbed a quick bike check with him. He’s been on a 21″ Borato frame for a while now, with a mix of parts from Macneil and his other sponsor, Animal. Check it all out in detail below.
Frame – Macneil Borato 21″
Forks – Macneil CKS
Bars – Macneil XLT 8.75″
Stem – Macneil Topnotch
Headset – Animal
Seat/Post – Macneil Fat Capital/pivotal
Front Wheel – Animal Javelin
Rear Wheel – Macneil Dubs rim to Primary rear hub with rear hub guard

What parts on your bike are you the most picky about?
I hate when my chain rattles.
What do you go through the fastest?
Grips, pedals, and wheels.
Where do your old parts go when you’re done with them?
In the garbage if they’re broken, or hook up shredder kids.

While we’re out in Barcelona we shot a quick bike check with Greg. He’s switched up his ride recently and is riding the Calico frame now. Check out some more photos of his ride with a few prototype parts and a parts list below.
Frame – Macneil Calico 21.5″
Forks – Macneil CKS
Bars – prototype Macneil Tabarnak
Stem – Macneil Topshelf
Headset – Macneil
Seat/Post – Macneil SL/pivotal
Front Wheel – Macneil Dubs rim to Primary hub with prototype hub guard
Rear Wheel – Macneil Dubs rim to LHD Primary rear hub with prototype hub guard
Pegs – Macneil Fashionably Light
Cranks – Macneil LHD Conjoined
Sprocket – 25 tooth Macneil Lambo splined
Grips – Macneil Defgrips
You were running a 21″ Borato frame previously. How do you like the switch to a longer top tube (21.5″) with a short rear end (13.2″) on the Calico?
It’s great because it doesn’t feel that long. The backend is short, but the front is long. I always wanted a lot of room in the front for barspins and all my tricks, but a short backend for snapiness. It doesn’t feel like a long bike.

Prototype Tabarnak bars.

Topshelf stem.

Conjoined cranks to Lambo sprocket.

SL seat and pivotal post.

Defgrips coming soon…

¡Hola from Spain.

You just built up a new bike. Your last bike had two pegs and a rear brake, and this one is set up with no pegs and no brakes. Why the change?
Just before reading this I was listening to Bob Dylan’s song Times are a Changin, It was just time for me to change things up with my bike setup. I’ve always done that over the years to stay interested and keep it fun. Trying and learning new tricks is a lot of fun.
What’s your favourite part on your bike?
Macneil bars are perfect. I’ve always hated the feel of bars growing up and it was always hard to fine bars that felt good. The Macneil XLT bars are perfect and they never bend.
What parts do you go through the quickest?
Pedals for sure, I love and hate grinding my pedals. I love pedal grind tricks but I hate riding with no pins on my pedals as well, haha. Besides that, I don’t go through parts that quick anymore.
What do you do with your old parts when you build up a new bike?
Pay bills.
You’ve been filming pretty steadily all summer before you built this new setup. Where and when can people see new footage from you?
I’m always filming for little fun web edits but this past year I’ve been saving and working on my Sour Fever video part. The video is premiering at CORE BMX & Boards (in Toronto) Saturday October 29th at 5pm, be there! I also have a ton of scrap footage, enough for a full video part that I’m going to send Animal and see what they do with it…
Any plans for the fall and upcoming winter months?
I just got a job so I’m going to try to hold onto that. Just chill over the winter and ride some indoor parks here and there. Hopefully go on a trip or to to some warmer weather.
