Lazer is down in Brisbane, Australia right now riding with George Bolter and Samson Ross. The first bit of his trip he was dodging some bad weather, but they’ve all been riding regardless. Had a little bit of a slow start to the trip with some real shitty weather the first three days we were here. Pretty much rained non stop. Tried to make the most of it though. Had a fun pretty fun session at an indoor park and drank our faces off. The weather has been better the last little bit though. Did a day trip up the Gold Coast, another to the Sunshine Coast and been riding around the city a bunch.

We caught up with Jaumell last night while he was at the Oilers vs, Avalanche hockey game to see what he’s been up to this winter in Edmonton.

What you been up to this winter?
I’ve been working on a VW and playing shinny, but mostly I’ve been playing a lot of Xbox.

Big win for the Oilers tonight. How many beers were consumed at the game?
Yeah, tonight’s game was awesome. I managed to squeeze in a few while watching the Oilers win a game coming off of the All-Star break.

How do you think the Oilers will end their season?
I think it might be another rough year but I’m hoping for the best.

What’s your plans for the rest of winter?
I’ll probably chill all winter. There aren’t any indoor parks so riding time is spaced out. Hang out in the garage, hang out with my girl.

Ryan Fudger hooked up with Kevin and shot a great bike check and did a little interview for Ride BMX with him about how he ended up hooking up with us. Kevin’s currently running a new sample Borato frame in bright orange, this bike check was done a bit before he got his hands on that. MacNeil Bikes would officially like to welcome Kevin Kiraly to the team. We couldn’t be happier to bring Kevin’s focus on progression and documentation of technical street riding to our team. As a resident of California, he has been able to enjoy great weather this winter while filming a ‘welcome to MacNeil’ edit that is in the works. Along with that, he is about to leave on a trip to Australia, so you can expect to see and hear a lot more from Kevin and MacNeil in the near future.

We are super excited to have Kevin as a part of the team and have a lot of great things lined up with him as well as the rest of the team in 2012!

“Haven’t really been doing much here lately other than trying to make the most of the warm weather. Haha. Kind of boring. Did get up to Woodward West the other day though. Got to ride the new stuff they built up there. Super fun. I’m getting super excited for Australia. I leave Wednesday night.”
