After five years MacNeil and Gary Young are parting ways as of Today. We’d like to thank Gary for representing us so well for so many years. We wish him the best of luck in the future.
“On a Personal note, Gary’s one of the best people I’ve ever met in this sport. Traveling, and riding all the craziest spots with him was an experience I’ll never forget. Thanks for everything Gary.” Jay
Street finals for X-Games was today and Gary got third!! A third at X-Games is pretty incredible and the fact that Gary just got off double knee surgery makes it that much more impressive. The park finals have been on ABC and ESPN today and if you haven’t caught it yet today, they’ll probably be showing highlights tonight, so keep your eye out for Gary!! If you can’t get to a TV check out everything BMX from the X-Games on the Ride site (where I took the photos above from!)
On a semi-related note, check out a rad bike check with Gary and his new signature frame on the Odyssey site here!
Gary and Alistair are at the X-Games and park qualifying went down yesterday. Ali came in 17th and Gary qualified 1st!! Check out an edit from Ride above and let’s all wish Gary good luck in the finals!!
Gary recently had double knee surgery to fix some problems he’s been having in both his knees. We are bummed Gary is off his bike for a bit, but totally stoked for him to heal up and put his knee troubles in the past! Dig just asked Gary a few questions about his surgeries and his recovering process. Check it out here!
Here are a few clips of Gary at the Vancouver WA park last summer. We drove down to Portland from Vancouver, BC for the Dew Tour and hit up the park on our way home. Thanks to Andrew McMullen for the video!
Just posted Gary’s team page… Check it out! Gary also just got back from a rad trip to Thailand, if you missed the blog post about his trip, check it out here!
Gary just got back from his trip to Thailand and send a bunch of photos. Check out what he had to say about his trip!
“My trip to Thailand was amazing! We rode some really awesome stuff including elephants. All of the Thai riders that we met were so hospitable, and theThai smile really is infectious. Everywhere we went we were met by smiling faces it was really quite nice, with the exception of the sun dial that was shaped like a half pipe…But we were expecting to get kicked off of that thing. Unfortunately at the end of the trip I twisted my knee. It was on this weird road gap, when I pulled up in the air, my hand slipped off the grip. In hindsight I fell victim to the humidity.”
The Odyssey video was amazing and Gary opened up the video with a section that few people will ever be able to forget. It looks like Odyssey is releasing the whole video on their site and have just released Gary’s whole section. Check it out and make sure to buy the DVD, cus watching it on your big ass TV is waaaay better!
The Give D video “Summer Of Rot” is up in it’s entirety on the Bnqt site and you need to check out Gary’s part! He has a split section with Hoang Tran and there are some serious bangers.
